It is said that physical exercise changes the brain to improve memory and thinking skills. Other than that, we do it because its absolute fun and it’s a way to bring people together.
March 24th2018, a day to remember. Three out of four communities that JBAC engages with came together in one location. Purpose – to play, interact and just have some fun.
Contestants aged between 7 to 18 years of age, over 50 attendees and 10 top participants from each community, the games began. We had all sorts of games lined up, such as tag of war, apple bobbing, eating competition, spoon marble race, multiplication tables with times tables games, athletics and so much more.
The children asked us to be doing this more often. ‘It’s too much fun to have just once’ one of them told me. The adults too turned up to watch the games as the participants went for it under the blue sky. The cheering was louder from the adults than it was from the kids. This is something you don’t get to see every day from our communities. I was actually worried that it may rain as the whole week had been wet but even the weather seemed to enjoy the day with us.
The winning team was Malalani community. Kudos!!
